Family Friendly Fun continues in Belfast

Free Family Friendly fun continues this month at a variety of venues across Belfast, until the end of March. From cookery workshops, DJ Taster sessions and music events to watersports – there’s activities and taster sessions for all the family- young and old.

Family Friendly Belfast is a partnership consisting of: Belfast Strategic Partnership, Belfast City Centre Management and the Public Health Agency.

Now in its third year, Family Friendly came about after Belfast Strategic Partnership hosted a drugs and alcohol workshop and the key outcomes were to provide a wide range of alcohol-free alternatives for families and young people in Belfast city centre that are affordable, attractive and accessible to all as well as promoting Belfast as a Family Friendly and Child Friendly City, in line with World Health Organisation standards.

Family Friendly Belfast works in partnership with organisations from the private and public sector across Belfast to help tackle inequality across the city.

Registration and/or booking is essential for most events.

Saturday 21 March

Culture Babies, (under 4s) will be running a baby circus from 10.00am-12noon at CastleCourt.

KidsSpace, why not try a Balloon Modelling Workshop, 11.00am-2.00pm, Learning Space, Fountain Street.

Kids Cook Along, make a fun recipe and eat what you’ve made! 4.30pm – 7.30pm, Belfast Cookery School. Contact

Oh Yeah Centre will be hosting a Vintage Picnic at 12noon-4.00pm. Step back in time to 1964 with some tea and cakes and a record player.

Sunday 22 March

Free bellboating sessions for children age 8-13 years.11.00am-1.00pm at Lagan Watersports.

Watersports Taster Sessions for children aged 14+, from 1.30pm – 3.30pm at Lagan Watersports.

Friday 27 March

Volume Control presents ‘A Plastic Rose’ album launch – one for all the family, from 7.00pm-10.00pm at Oh Yeah Music Centre.

Saturday 28 March

Culture Babies, (under 4s) will be running a Maker Baby Shaker event from 10.00am-12noon at CastleCourt.

KidsSpace, Balloon Modelling Workshop, 11.00am-2.00pm, Learning Space, Fountain Street.

Acoustic Picnic at Oh Yeah Centre from 1.00pm-2.00pm.

How do we turn Belfast into a good food city for everyone? Organised by Belfast Food Network, this high energy family art workshop exploring how we can turn Belfast into a good food city for the benefit of all. May Street Presbyterian Church Hall, 1.00pm-4.00pm. Contact
