Weigh to Health Programme

Why wait to lose weight?

The Weight to Health programme helps adults who are overweight to lose weight sensibly with group support; advising how to eat a healthier diet, make positive changes to manage their weight and take part in some low-level physical activity.

The programme runs for six sessions and has been developed by Community Dietitians in partnership with health development and psychology colleagues.

If you would like to lead a group with the Weigh to Health programme, you need to:

  • Attend a Weigh to Health training programme (2 days)
  • Attend Walk Leader Training (1 day) – unless already Walk Leader trained
  • Be willing to deliver the programme within six months of being trained

NB* Participants need to be available to attend all 3 days before they are qualified to deliver the Weigh to Health Programme (unless already Walk Leader trained).
