October is Positive Ageing Month!

It is October so that must  mean it is Positive Ageing Month!

There is a host of activities for older people planned to celebrate the contribution Belfast’s older citizens make to the city and their local communities.

Some Positive Ageing Month favourites like Chocolate Bingo, the Big Quiz and a Tea Dance will all be done virtually for older people to enjoy from the comfort of their own homes.

There will also be cookery demonstrations, shared reading, history talks, info sessions, and even sing along sessions .

Some events will still take place at live venues such as the Silver Sunday at the Ulster Museum on 3rd October, movies at the Strand Cinema and guided walks.

These events will follow strict social distancing guidelines.

The will  be Fix It van will at various Community Centres the week of 11th – 15th October where you can bring your phones, tablets, laptops along for someone can help with your IT issues – booking is essential 077713684705.

You will also have a chance to join the Virtual interactive Dementia Awareness training 7pm on Wednesday 20th October 2021, which will give you lots of useful info and tips for everyday living with Dementia

The month of activities will kick off on Friday 1st October, International Older Peoples Day,  where we will be outside the City Hall in the afternoon, giving out programmes and Safe Seniors Packs
