Take 5 Award Winners

Six community and voluntary groups have been awarded a ‘Take 5 Legacy Award’ for delivering and supporting the ‘Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing’ across Belfast, presented by Belfast Lord Mayor, Councillor Arder Carson.

Each award recognised the work undertaken by each group for delivering the Take 5 message: Give, Be active, Connect, Keep Learning and Take notice.

The winners are:

Belfast Healthy Living Centres (HLCs) Network The HLCs developed a calendar of events and activities directly connected to the Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing around world mental health week in 2015. The activities created a great opportunity to give local people a menu of popular and new things to try.

East Belfast Community Development Agency

EBCDA delivered health development activities under the 5 themes of the East Belfast Health Framework.

Tackling Awareness of Mental Health Issues (TAMHI)

TAMHI actively promoted the Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing messages and activities across sports clubs particularly in north and west Belfast.

The H.E.A.R.T. Project (Health Education And Relaxing Therapy)

The Take steps form a core part and were embedded in the work of the H.E.A.R.T. Project across a range of activities including healthy eating, physical activity and life skills.

Top of the Rock Healthy Living Centre

A ‘Take 5 Steps to Wellbeing Mind Map’ was designed to allow people undergoing counselling to explore and identify short, medium and long term goals to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Using Technology Older People In Action (UTOPIA) Over 60s Group

You’re never too old to learn! The UTOPIA project taught older people how to use technology such as computers, social media & Skype, digital cameras and DVD editing so they can communicate with friends and family, share their ideas and get more involved in community life.
