Janet – “My voluntary work helps people settle in to our culture.”

Janet taught Spanish and French for 30 years.

One day at a dance class she was asked if she could help teach English to speakers of other languages. She lived in Tanzania before and says she knows how difficult it is to settle into a new culture.

Janet says her voluntary work has taught her a lot. She has learned all sorts of tips from her students.

Volunteering has given Janet a new insight into other cultures.
